StatMonkey WP Theme (Updates)

I'll do it myself

’ve got a confession to make.

I hate themes.

Not conceptually. I love the idea of them. Someone else does the hard work, I drop my content in, life is good. In practice? Every theme I touched turned into a negotiation. “You can do this… but not that.” Want to tweak a layout? Override three things. Want it to behave like a normal human website? Sorry, that’s a premium add-on or a child theme or a ritual sacrifice.

So I stopped fighting it.

This site is running on a custom theme I built because I wanted it to work my way. Which means:
– Sections that actually reflect how I run games
– Pages that evolve as projects evolve
– Less “blog platform” and more “living GM notebook”

The downside? Yeah. It’s probably a little buggy right now.

That’s the tradeoff. When you build instead of buying, the paint is still drying. Things might look weird on a device I didn’t test. A link might hiccup. Something may feel slightly off. If you spot anything broken, janky, or just plain annoying… tell me. Seriously. There should be a way to contact me, and if there isn’t… well, congrats, you found a bug already.

Now, about Campaign Codexes.

That section is the long game.

The plan is to use it as a home for campaign-specific material: setting notes, recurring NPCs, locations, factions, session fallout, basically the stuff that normally lives in a half-dozen notebooks and a folder called “final_v3_REAL_final.” Each codex will be its own thing, with its own structure, because not every campaign deserves the same scaffolding.

Some of this will be public. Some of it might be half-finished. That’s intentional. I want it to feel like a workbench, not a museum display.

So yeah,

This site is a bit of a Frankenstein right now. But it’s my Frankenstein. And unlike most themes I’ve used, it’s actually growing with the projects instead of fighting them.

If something breaks, shout.
If something feels awkward, shout louder.
If you’ve got ideas, I’m listening.

More to come. Always.
